Local Government
The Town of Dover has three separate boards.
Town Board:
The Town Board manages the day-to-day operations of the Town Government
and is accountable for the health, safety, and welfare of all residents.
Planning Board:
The Planning Board upholds and implements the community's development policies through the review
and approval of, among other things, subdivision plats, site plans and special permit applications.
Zoning Board of Appeals:
The essential function of the Zoning Board of Appeals is to grant variances from strict application of
the zoning laws in circumstances when they create demonstrable hardships or practical difficulties for property owners.
