2017 Dutchess County Final Tax Assessment
Beginning in 2011, RPTL §1590 requires that assessing units post their tentative assessment rolls on their web site,
or to provide a link to the county web site posting the tentative assessment roll. These rolls are updated on or around May 1st.
Detailed parcel information can be found on Dutchess County’s Parcel/Access application which is also updated on or around May 1st.

Exemption forms are available on the New York State Website. All completed exemption forms are due in the office by March 1st of each year.

Requirements for Basic Star Tax Exemption - One of the following is required for Proof of Residency:
- Driver's License with street address (PO Box will not be accepted)
- Voter Registration Card (Contact Board of Election 486-2473)
SENIOR CITIZEN PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION:
Requirements are based on age (65 years of age by March 1st). Along with ownership status, residency and occupancy and with a combined income of less than $32,400. Must renew yearly.
ENHANCED STAR EXEMPTION:
For primary residences of senior citizens (65 years old before Decemeber 31st of that year) unless husband or wife, or by siblings with a combined adjusted gross income less than $79,050 (excluding any IRA distributions). A COPY OF YOUR FEDERAL INCOME TAX RETURN IS REQUIRED. MUST RENEW YEARLY.
BASIC STAR EXEMPTION:
For anyone who owns and lives in a home. There is no age or income requirement. PROOF OF RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED (Driver license or Voter registration card). ONE TIME APPLICATION.
ALTERNATIVE VETERAN'S EXEMPTION:
A Veteran or un-remarried spouse of a veteran who served on active duty during one of the specified periods of war. There is a veteran's disability exemption as well, if qualified. A COPY OF YOUR DEED ALONG WITH A COPY OF YOUR DD-214 IS REQUIRED. ONE TIME APPLICATION.
Farmland must satisfy certain gross sales and acreage eligibility requirements. MUST RENEW YEARLY.
Grievance Day is the 4th Tuesday of May (from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm) at the Town Hall.
